MILWAUKEE – For the first time in nearly 51 weeks, the Alverno basketball team got to play on their home court, hosting the MSOE Raiders for a Friday night contest. The Inferno fell to their guests by an 83-41 score.

Leading the way for the Inferno was sophomore
Angie Reutgen with 10 points as she connected on 4-of-9 from the field, while also securing four rebounds. Classmate
Keeshya Bellows added eight points and also grabbed four boards.

Crashing the glass with seven caroms on the defensive side was freshman
Vorian Wilcox, as she finished the contest with six points. Classmate
Courtney Zarda connected on two from the field including one from long-range as she also led the team with four assists to go along with her five points.

Senior
Dom Hudson chipped in with five points and two rebounds on the offensive glass, while junior
Kay Cooper connected with five points on the evening. Senior
Mikayla Tessay added a basket and secured three rebounds. Freshman
Alayna Smith had two rebounds, while freshman
Kiara Ellison also played three minutes.

Alverno trailed by 10 to start the game before Zarda connected on a jumper to stem the early tide. Cooper later chipped in with a three-pointer on a dish from Bellows, before Wilcox knocked down a jumper in the paint for the sixth and seventh Alverno points of the quarter.

The Inferno trailed by 30 points at the intermission at 45-15, before the Raiders extended the lead to 42 to close out the game and pick up the 42-point win, 83-41.

Alverno (0-4, 0-4 NACC) will host MSOE for the second consecutive night tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. from the Reiman Gymnasium.
