Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Alverno soccer team wrapped up the road portion of its 2021 slate on Saturday afternoon, visiting the Marian Sabres on Smith Field. The host Sabres won the match by a 4-0 score, with three of those goals coming in the opening half.

The Inferno were able to collect one shot on the match, with that coming in the second half as sophomore
Margarita Navarro recorded her fourth shot of the season.

Kenzie Bermudez made 19 saves in the effort brining her season total of 170 with one game remaining on the slate.

The Sabres scored goals in the eighth and 12th minutes to take an early 2-0 lead before adding a third first-half goal in the 27th minute.

The second half saw the Inferno create a few offensive chances as the team was given a corner kick in the 67th minute, before Navarro registered her shot in the opening stages of the 69th minute.

Minutes later at the 73:02 mark, the Sabres potted their final foal of the match to cap off the scoring for the conference victory to keep their NACC postseason chances alive heading into the final week of conference play.

Alverno (2-8-1, 0-12-0 NACC) wraps up the season on Thursday afternoon, when Alverno hosts St. Norbert for a 3 p.m. start on the Alverno Soccer Field.
