MILWAUKEE -- Host Alverno College was defeated by crosstown rival Milwaukee School of Engineering, 3-0, in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action Friday night inside Reiman Gymnasium.

The visiting Raiders (4-13, 3-5 NACC) took the match by scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 25-18 over the Inferno (3-21, 1-6).

MSOE outhit Alverno .262 to .037, which proved to be the difference-maker in the contest.

Melissa Weyand led the Inferno offense with eight kills, Sam Korn had 18 assists and a pair of blocks and Cailey Jeske had a match-high four services aces. Karissa Minster joined Korn and added a pair of blocks on the defensive side of the net.

It's a quick turnaround for Alverno who travels crosstown for a NACC match at Wisconsin Lutheran College Saturday at noon.
