BELOIT, Wis. -- Three days after Alverno College knocked off Beloit College in Reiman Gymnasium the Buccaneers returned the favor with a 3-0 sweep of the Inferno inside Flood Arena in the opening match of the Buc Blast Tournament.

The host Bucs (1-1) topped the Inferno (1-1) 25-17, 25-9 and 25-22 to even the season series.

Jessica Wewers led the Alverno attack with six kills and two service aces, and did her part on defense with three blocks.

Danielle Schilawski posted a team-high 15 digs and Alyssa Reinke added 14.

The teams will play a rubber match on Saturday, September 19 for the third and final meeting of the season at a triangular hosted by Mount Mary University.

The Inferno plays two more matches at the Buc Blast tomorrow at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., against Illinois Institute of Technology and Rockford University.
