CHICAGO -- The final two matches for Alverno College at North Park University's Viking Clash Tournament didn't go the Inferno's way as the team closed out the event with two 3-0 losses Saturday.

North Central College (Ill.) topped Alverno 25-8, 25-15, 25-19 this morning, while Nebraska Wesleyan University -- which is receiving votes in the latest AVCA Top 25 poll -- defeated the Inferno 25-5, 25-11, 25-19 this afternoon.

The Inferno had just 18 kills against the Cardinals (8-2), led by Jessica Wewers eight. Alyssa Reinke led the defense with nine digs, while Danielle Schilawski had eight.

Melissa Weyand led the Alverno defense against the Prairie Wolves (3-4) with 12 digs and Wewers again headed the offense with six kills.

The Inferno (2-6) looks to snap its current skid Tuesday when it opens Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play against Benedictine University. First serve is set for 7 p.m. in Reiman Gymnasium.
