Box Score 2 MILWUKEE -- Alverno College surrendered four home runs and dropped its Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference-opening doubleheader to visiting Concordia University Wisconsin Saturday afternoon at a sunny yet cold Alverno Field.
The Falcons (9-7, 2-0 NACC) took the opener 5-1, and won the nightcap 8-1, which spoiled the Inferno's (8-6, 0-2) home-opening twin bill of the 2015 season.
Sam Kasprzak knocked in Alverno's lone run in the opener with a two-out double to center field in the bottom of the seventh that plated Sarah Brumett.
In game two, Ashlie Rossi's single up the middle scored Alexis Botsford to give the Inferno an early 1-0 lead during the first inning, but the Falcons went ahead with two runs in the fourth and tacked on six in the fifth and six innings.
Erin Dulek (3-3) picked up the loss in game one, while Olivia Schneider (4-2) was tagged for the loss in game two.
The Falcons' Melissa Perkins (4-3) earned the complete-game win in the opener, while Emily Brekke (3-3) earned the decision in game two in a pair scoreless innings of relief.
Up next for Alverno is another home NACC doubleheader against Wisconsin Lutheran College Sunday at 12 p.m.
