MILWAUKEE -- Alverno College's Ashleigh Sagat was named the Northern Athletics Conference Position Player Softball Student-Athlete of the Week for games of April 22-28, as selected by the league's sports information directors.

Sagat (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) hit her third grand slam of the season in the Inferno's 7-3 upset of Dominican on Friday. The outfielder broke a 1-1 tie with the bases-clearing homer off Emily Mahoney, the NAC's most victorious pitcher this season.

On the week, the junior smashed 13 hits -- four for extra bases -- for a .500 average with 17 RBIs and scored 11 times for Alverno (16-18, 8-14 NAC). Three of her four home runs this season have been grand slams.

This marks the second weekly award of Sagat's career, first this season and the team's sixth of 2013.
