RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Alverno played a solid first two sets tonight versus host Dominican, but fell to the Stars, 3-0, tonight at Igini Sports Forum.

The Inferno (3-15 overall, 0-3 Northern Athletics Conference) hung with the league-leading Stars (12-4, 4-0) in sets one and two, but lost each by identical scores of 25-22.

The Stars then dominated the third set and scored 15-straight points before the Inferno got on the board. The hosts won the final set 25-7 for the 3-0 sweep of the match.

Cali Trepp (Iron Mountain, Mich./Niagara) led the Inferno offense with eight kills and added a pair of service aces. She finished the night with a .250 attack percentage with just two errors on a team-high 24 attempts.

Reagan Owen (Salina, Kan./Central) had a match-high 13 digs to lead the Alverno defense.

Alverno returns home on Friday -- after nearly 4 weeks in-between home matches -- hosting MSOE at 7 p.m. in a Northern Athletics Conference match.
