Box Score 2 MILWAUKEE -- Alverno College finished the 2011 season with a nonconference doubleheader sweep over crosstown rival Mt. Mary College today at Alverno Field. The Inferno won game one 11-3 in six innings and the nightcap 20-3 in five.
In the opening game, Jamie Villalobos (Antioch, Ill.) took care of business from both the pitching circle and the batter's box for the Inferno (12-28). The left-hander recorded a new career-high by striking out seven batters as she allowed just three runs (one earned) in her sixth victory of the season. She had a team-high three hits in four at bats with a pair of RBIs and a double, including a walk-off single in the bottom of the sixth that ended the game on the eight-run rule.
Natalie Petrie (Franklin, Wis.) recorded her third multiple-hit game of the season with a 2-of-3 performance on a pair of infield hits, while Emily Snell (Denmark, Wis.) and Roxanne Kresmer (South Milwaukee, Wis.) each drove in two runs.
In game two the Inferno offense was on fire scoring five runs in the first and 12 in the second. Alverno connected for 16 hits in the game as seven Inferno players recorded multiple hits in the victory.
Snell followed in Villalobos' steps as the right-hander got the win from the circle and also had a team-best three hits in four at bats. The rookie allowed three runs, but also recorded her career-high as she fanned five Blue Angels (0-26) and walked just one.
Villalobos batted 2-for-3 -- both doubles -- drove in five runs and scored three. Stef Wilmore (Elkhart, Ind./Central) knocked in three runs and scored three on a 2-of-3 hitting performance and also reached twice on walks.
Ashleigh Sagat (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) reached base five times on two hits (2-for-2) and three walks and stole a pair of bases. Bre Hart (Racine, Wis./Park), Kellee Laske (Milwaukee/Pius) and Megan Burgess (Racine, Wis./Park) all batted 2-for-3 in the game as well for the Inferno.
