Box Score 2 MILWAUKEE -- Alverno College connected for only four hits as it was swept by defending Northern Athletics Conference champion Benedictine University in a doubleheader today at Alverno Field. The visiting Eagles took game one 7-0 and game two 6-0.
Rookie shortstop Chelsea Gulbronson (Milwaukee/Pius) led the Inferno with two hits on the day, recording the team's only hit in game two versus defending NAC Pitcher of the Year Brittany Adcox, an infield hit in the first inning.
Catcher Stef Wilmore (Elkhart, Ind./Central) and outfielder Ashleigh Sagat (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) recorded the team's other two hits on the day in game one.
The Inferno (5-15, 2-6 NAC) caught five Eagles (16-4, 6-0 NAC) stealing on the day as Wilmore and Gulbronson connected to put out four of the runners.
Emily Snell (Denmark, Wis.) picked up the loss in game one in three innings of work, while lefty Jamie Villalobos (Antioch, Ill.) got the decision in game two for the Inferno.
Alverno hosts a nonconference doubleheader on Wednesday versus Carroll University. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
