MILWAUKEE -- The visiting Aurora Spartans defeated the host Alverno Inferno, 3-0, tonight in Reiman Gymnasium.

The Spartans (8-21, 3-7 Northern Athletics Conference) won in straight sets, 25-14, 25-13 and 25-20, over the Inferno (3-22, 0-9 NAC).

Aurora tallied 42 kills and committed only 10 errors for a .294 attack percentage, while the Inferno had 22 kills and 19 attack errors.

Linda Vang (Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln) led the Inferno offense with eight kills on 28 attempts, while Shelby Metzger (Montreal, Mo./Camdenton) added four kills.

Reagan Owen (Salina, Kan./Central) had a team-high 14 digs to lead the Inferno defense, while Metzger added 10 digs to go with her 12 assists for a double-double.

The Inferno are next in action this Friday, hosting a triangular-match versus Edgewood and North Park.
