MILWAUKEE -- Alverno dropped a nonconference match to the visiting Cardinal Stritch Wolves, 3-0, tonight in Reiman Gymnasium.

The Inferno (3-21) dropped the first and second sets by identical 25-20 scores, and then the final 25-22 for the sweep by the Wolves (17-10).

Alverno started out the night with three straight aces by Shelby Metzger (Montreal, Mo./Camdenton), but Stritch took a 6-5 lead and never looked back.

Morgan Stuckey (Duncanville, Texas) led the Inferno with 11 kills on 31 attempts and also recorded 11 digs on the defensive side for her second double-double in the last three matches.

Reagan Owen (Salina, Kan./Central) had a match-high 17 digs for the Inferno defense, while Linda Vang (Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln) added nine and Metzger seven.

Alverno returns to action on Tuesday versus Northern Athletics Conference foe Aurora in Reiman Gymnasium.
