MILWAUKEE -- Visiting Dominican University defeated host Alverno College 3-0 tonight in a Northern Athletics Conference match at Reiman Gymnasium in Milwaukee.

The Inferno (0-8, 0-2 NAC) faced the two defending NAC co-champions tonight and on Tuesday (3-0 loss to Lakeland) in a tough schedule for the week.

The visiting Stars (10-2, 2-0 NAC) jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first set and never looked back, winning in straight sets 25-8, 25-4 and 25-10.

Alverno struggled with Dominican's attack as the Stars connected with a .417 hitting percentage, compared to the Inferno's -.143.

Freshman Jordan Nickelatti (Genoa, Wis./De Soto) added a pair of services aces for the Inferno to her team-leading 11 on the season, and Chelsea Gulbronson (Milwaukee/Pius XI) led the Alverno defense with nine digs.

Alverno continues NAC play next Wednesday as they travel to face Concordia University Chicago on Sept. 22, at 7 p.m.
