Box Score 2 MILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College volleyball team lost its final Northern Athletics Conference match of the season to visiting Rockford College 3-0 (25-10, 25-9, 25-18) and then lost a nonconference match to North Park University 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-15) this afternoon at Reiman Gymnasium in Milwaukee.
The Inferno (1-23, 0-12 NAC) struggled out of the gates in the first match versus Rockford (6-16, 5-6), falling behind 10-0, and losing the first set 25-10, and eventually the set 3-0. Alverno tied a season-high with 18 reception errors, allowing the Regents 18 uncontested points in the match.
Tasha Anderson (Waukesha, Wis./North) had a team-high five kills for the Inferno, while Jordan Nickelatti (Genoa, Wis./De Soto) had a team and career-high 13 digs and 0.5 blocks to lead the defense.
In the loss to North Park (7-17) Alverno fared much better on both sides of the net, but still was swept 3-0 by the Vikings.
Anderson and Chelsea Gulbronson (Milwaukee/Pius XI) each had six kills to lead the Inferno attack, which was one of the best attack percentages of the season with a .108 mark.
The Inferno defense tallied a season-high 54 digs in the match as Morgan Stuckey (Duncanville, Texas) led the team with a career-high 15 digs and Ashley Graham (Cudahy, Wis.) and Nickelatti also got double-digit digs with 10 apiece.
The Inferno will look to snap their 12-match losing streak in their final match of the season at crosstown rival Mt. Mary College in a nonconference match on Thursday at 7 p.m.
