Errors plague Inferno in loss to Marian

FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- The Alverno College volleyball team committed a season-high 11 service errors in a 3-0 loss to host Marian University tonight at Sadoff Gymnasium in Fond du Lac, Wis.

The Inferno (1-18, 0-9 Northern Athletics Conference) also committed 22 attack errors in the match, just days after committing a season-low nine on Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran College.

The lone bright spot for the Inferno was their defense which eclipsed 40 digs for third time this season with 41 in tonight's match. Freshman Chelsea Gulbronson (Milwaukee/Pius XI) had a match-high 12 digs, tying her career-high for the third time in nearly a week.

Marian (9-16, 5-3) won their third-straight match by sweeping the Inferno 25-14, 25-20 and 25-11.

Alverno has the weekend off before taking on Aurora University (3-22, 0-8), also winless in NAC play, next Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. in Aurora, Ill.
