RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- The Alverno College women's volleyball team played through a difficult Northern Athletics Conference match with Concordia University Chicago, falling 3-0 (25-5, 25-13, 25-18) to the host Cougars on Wednesday, Oct. 29, in River Forest, Ill.
With the loss, the 2008 season will come to an end for the Inferno (2-24, 0-12 NAC) as they will not make the eight-team NAC Tournament pool.
Senior outside hitter/middle blocker Rebecca Schmid (Tigerton, Wis.) led Alverno on offense for the final time of her career, knocking down four kills. Freshman outside hitter Ashley Graham (Cudahy, Wis.) aided the defense with five digs in the match.
