MADISON, Wis. -- The Alverno College women's volleyball team went four sets with Northern Athletics Conference foe Edgewood College Friday night, but lost 3-1 to the host Eagles.
After dropping the first two sets 25-17 and 25-18, the Inferno (2-22, 0-10 NAC) defeated Edgewood, 25-19, in the third. Edgewood (7-22, 2-10) proved to be too strong for the Inferno, taking the fourth set, 25-16, to claim the match victory.
Sophomore Robyn Rosenthal (Waterford, Wis.) led the Alverno offensive attack with 11 kills and senior Rebecca Schmid (Tigerton, Wis.) had 7. Kim Reuter (Franklin, Wis.) tallied a team-high 21 assists in the match.
Schmid led the Inferno defense with 15 digs, while Ashley Graham (Cudahy, Wis.) had 12 and Rosenthal had 10.
The Inferno will look to rebound from tonight's loss as they host Maranatha Baptist (13-12, 4-6) in a conference match at 2:00pm tomorrow afternoon in Milwaukee.
