Alverno College

2020: Attended Alverno for her third year with the program…did not participate as the team did not compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
2019: Appeared in all 27 of the team’s matches during her sophomore season with starts in 15 contests…appeared in all but three of the team’s 86 sets on the year…ended the campaign third on the team with 28 aces on the year…was also third on the team with 175 digs on the defensive side of the ball…began the season with two kills along with one ace and two digs in the team’s opener against Olivet (8/30)…had her best match of the season with a season-best eight kills along with a season-high four aces and a year-best 20 digs in the team’s four-set home-opener against Crown (Minn.) (8/31)…added three more kills and nine digs in the team’s next match against Lake Forest (9/6)…added another eight digs and had an ace and an assist the following morning against Benedictine (9/7)…added four kills later in the day to go along with four digs and a pair of aces against Augustana (9/7)…had a kills and nine digs in the team’s win against Mount Mary (9/11)…picked up nine more digs and added a kill in the team’s match against Central (Iowa) (9/21)…notched eight more digs later in the day against Bethel (Minn.) (9/21)…secured nine digs in the team’s final match of the month in league play against Concordia Chicago (9/28)…registered five kills and five digs in the team’s four-set match at St. Norbert (10/1)…added 13 digs to her ledger during the team’s match against Wisconsin Lutheran (10/5)…picked up seven digs in a road match at Aurora (10/11)…had three-straight six-dig performances against Benedictine (10/12), Lake Forest (10/15), and Dominican (10/18)…collected a pair of aces and added eight more digs in the team’s conference bout versus MSOE (10/22)…secured seven more digs against Illinois Tech (10/25)…finished the season with a 10-dig performance with two assists and two aces against Rockford (10/30).
 
2018: Saw time in 14 matches for the Inferno during her freshman…made one start on the year and played in 27 sets on the campaign….made her collegiate debut and picked up one assist and had a dig in the team’s match against Randolph-Macon (8/31)…picked up three digs in action against UW-Platteville (9/7)…added three more digs the next afternoon against Maranatha (9/8)…added three more digs against Grinnell (9/14)…had six service aces and added a dig during the team’s victory over Trinity Bible (N.D.) (9/15)…recorded the first kill of her career to go along with an ace and four digs in league action against Wisconsin Lutheran (9/29)…had another four-dig performance as she played four sets in the team’s win over Mount Mary (10/20)…had another kill to go along with four more digs in the team’s season finale against Loras (10/26).
 
High School: Graduated from Rosholt High School in Rosholt, Wisconsin in 2018…was a member of the volleyball team for the Hornets…was a Second Team All-Conference Selection in 2017 and also earned team Most Valuable Player accolades…was also a team captain as a senior…was also on the track & field team in high school and helped the team to conference championships in 2016 and also led the team to a regional track championship in 2017…was a First Team All-Conference selection in Shotput and Discus in 2017 and was also named Team Most Valuable Player…was also a team captain of the track & field team as a senior…also played club volleyball for the Waupaca Fire.

Personal: Daughter of Cindy and Joe Gemza…has two siblings; Joey and Abby…plans to graduate with a degree in Elementary Education while at Alverno.
