Coach Lawson is entering his third season as head coach of theInferno volleyball team and is the fifth head coach of the programwhich enters its 13th season of competition this fall.

Prior to Alverno, Lawson was the head women's coach at theUniversity of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kan., where he held theposition for seven seasons. In addition to his coaching duties hewas an instructor for classes in the sports management degreeprogram and the Director of Intramurals.

He has compiled a 294-266 career coaching record in over 20seasons of coaching on both the men's and women's side of thesport.

Before Saint Mary, Lawson was the head men's coach at MarycrestInternational University for three seasons where his teams finishedas National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA)national runner-up in 2001 and took third place at the nationaltournament in 2000. His teams finished in the Top 10 of the NAIANational Poll all three seasons while at Marycrest.

Lawson began his collegiate coaching career at DominicanUniversity in River Forest, Ill., now a fellow NAC member withAlverno, where he was the head men's coach and assistant women'scoach for 10 years. While at Dominican he was twice named ChicagoCollegiate Volleyball Conference men's coach of the year and hisfinal team finished No. 7 in the NAIA National Poll.

Prior to starting his coaching career, the George WilliamsCollege graduate spent four seasons playing professionally overseasin Denmark. Lawson has also been a certified USA VolleyballOfficial since 1992 in the Midwest region.
