David Sheridan

David Sheridan joins the Alverno staff in January of 2022 and will be at the helm of the Inferno soccer team for his first season in the fall of 2022.

Sheridan comes to Alverno with over a decade worth of postgraduate experience, including more than five years of experience at Division III institutions. Most recently as head coach of Austin College in Sherman, Texas from 2016-19. His other Division III stops have included Notre Dame of Maryland University, as well as Manchester College in Indiana.
 
Sheridan most recently held a number of coaching roles at Steel United in Texas, where he was also the Director of Goalkeeping and had been in that role since 2019.
 
Preceding his tenure with Steel United he worked as the head coach of Austin College from 2016-19. A one-year stint as the head coach of the Gators or Notre Dame Maryland, where he guided the team to a nine-win campaign, eclipsing the previous school mark of six, in his first head coaching role.
 
Sheridan was introduced to Division III women's soccer from 2013-15, while at Manchester, where he helped guide the team and student-athletes to multiple All-Conference and All-Region selections.
 
His collegiate coaching career began at Division I American University in Washington, D.C., where he was on the coaching staff in the very competitive Patriot League.
 
Sheridan holds numerous coaching diplomas, including the United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma, earned in 2021. He also holds the Football Association of Wales Level 1 Diploma, along with the United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma (2017), National Diploma (2013), and Level 1 & 2 Goalkeeper Diplomas (2014).
 
Prior to his entry into the world of coaching, Sheridan played professionally with St. Mirren F.C. in the Scottish First Division, Barry Town AFC in the Welsh Premiere Division, Cobh Ramblers AFC in the Irish Premiere Division, and the San Antonio Pumas in the USISL D3.
 
Collegiately, Sheridan played at Mount Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts, where he was a team captain and was a part of the team as it transitioned from NJCAA to NCAA Division III. While at the junior college level, he helped guide the team to the #2 ranking in the country, and played in the NJCAA Division 1 National Tournament. Upon transitioning to Division III, the Mustangs posted an undefeated league record and won the North Atlantic Conference championship in 1999.
 
Sheridan graduated with honors from Mount Ida with a degree in Graphic Design in 2000, he later went on to add his Master's degree in Coaching & Athletic Administration in 2015 from Concordia University in Irvine, California.
