Andie Vandertie

Andie Vandertie '19 enters her second season as an assistant coach with the Alverno Softball program for the spring 2022 season.

In her first season as an assistant coach with the program, Vandertie worked with the team on their defense and offense. Following the COVID-19-shortened season, sophomore Izzy Torres '23 was selected as an All-Conference Honorable Mention selection, becoming the first softball student-athlete to do so since Vandertie in 2019.

During her four-year tenure with the Inferno on the softball diamond, Vandertie earned All-Conference accolades for the Inferno following the 2019 season, where she hit .409 with 52 hits including seven doubles and four home runs while driving in 30 runs and scoring 14, all career highs. For her four seasons in an Inferno uniform she connected on six long balls to go along with 74 RBIs and 147 hits during her 148 career games played. She is fifth on the all-time list at Alverno in hits, and eighth all-time with a .352 batting average, while she is also fifth in RBIs, and sixth in both home runs and total bases (182).

Vandertie currently works at nearby Komatsu Mining Corporation as a Materials Planner. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Management from Alverno.
