MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Alverno College cross country team will begin its five-race, 2026 campaign this Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Ken Weidt Cross Country Classic in Mequon, Wisconsin at the CUW Cross Country Course.
Dom Hudson'25/'22 begins her third year as head coach of the program and will look to have a strong first season as members of the Coast-to-Coast Conference.
"We have athletes who are bringing excitement for the season and are ready to compete," Hudson said. "This team has shown intense mental grit; they are committed and are eager to learn and grow as we prepare for the first race of the season."
Schedule
The season begins for the Inferno on Saturday, Sept. 12, as the team heads to the Ken Weidt Cross Country Classic at Concordia Wisconsin, then gets nearly two weeks off after three straight weekends of competition to start the season. The team wraps up its September schedule at St. Norbert in the St. Norbert Green Knight Open on Friday, Sept. 25, competing at the Shorewood Course, the site of last year's conference championships.
The Inferno opens its schedule in October at the Steve Travis Invitational at Wisconsin Lutheran, racing on Saturday, Oct. 3. The following Friday, Oct. 9, the team heads to Mount Mary for the Women's College Classic, competing against the Blue Angels. Beloit hosts the final regular-season meet on Saturday, Oct. 17, as Alverno travels to race in the Wisconsin Private College Championships.
The C2C Cross Country Championships are set for Oct. 31 at Salisbury, as they host the championship race at Witner Place Park in Salisbury, Maryland.
Roster
Just one returner is on the 2026 roster for the Inferno, after three runners graduated from last year's team. Senior
Kate Peabody (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore), fresh off a strong season in 2025 that saw big improvements throughout the year, will be counted on to lead the 2026 squad.
Four newcomers fill out the rest of the roster for Alverno in 2026. Juniors
Moncerat Campos (Lompoc, Calif./Cabrillo) and
Anastasia Drolette (Guadalupe, Calif./Reedley) each bring collegiate athletics experience, as they enter their first season competing in cross country.
Freshmen
Brettlyn Bordson (Peoria, Ariz./Liberty) and
Chloe Wilson (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) complete the roster for the Inferno for this season.
