MILWAUKEE – The Alverno Tennis team hosted the St. Norbert Green Knights at the McKinley Park Tennis Courts in downtown Milwaukee. The Inferno put up a fight during the afternoon contest, but the Green Knights came out on top with a 7-0 score.
The Inferno had a strong showing in the top flight of doubles with senior
Morgan Golabowski and
Riley Spencer dropping their decision by an 6-0 margin. The second flight of singles saw
Ivonna Gentry and
Lilly Coronado by a 6-0 score margin.
Golabowski had another strong showing in singles play, forcing long rallies and high scores in the opening set but ultimately fell by a 6-0 score. It all started coming together for the Spencer in the second set, but it was not enough as St. Norbert won the top flight of singles play by a 6-0 score in the second set.
In the fourth matchup in singles play, Coronado battled back and forth with her opponent but ultimately St. Norbert winning 6-0.
Gentry dropped her fourth career singles matchup, dropping the decision by a 6-0, 6-0 margin.
Alverno (0-4, 0-4 NACC) will return to action as the Inferno will host MSOE on Thursday beginning at 5 p.m. from the McKinley Park Tennis Courts.
