FOND DU LAC, Wis.– The Alverno College women's basketball team saw its season come to an end on Saturday night with a 69-61 loss to Marian University. The Inferno finished the year 3-21.
 
Mya Roberts led Alverno against the Sabre with 25 points. It was another 20-point game of the season for Roberts. Kyla Jamerson joined her in double figures with a game-high 14 points.
 
Chelsea King finished with 25 points and nine rebounds. Also in double figures for Marian were Paris Harris 18 points and Rylee Loehr (12).
 
Marian led 17-16 after the first quarter when they shot 50 percent from the field.
 
Alverno would tie the game at 21-21 before Marian closed out the second quarter on a 19-4 run to go into halftime ahead 40-25.

 The Sabre increased their advantage and led by as many as 11 late in the third quarter and they were up 55-41 heading into the fourth. Alverno finished the fourth quarter outscoring Marian 20-14.
 
Marian was able to build its lead back out to 66-55 with 1:29 to play. Alverno then managed to cut the deficit to as small as five but Marian was able to cruise to the victory with adding its final points from the free throw line.

Alverno finished the contest outrebounding Marian 49-42.
