Alverno Thrive from the Three Point Line in 71-33 Win over Maranatha Baptist

MILWAUKEE, Wis.- The Alverno Basketball team put up a season high 71 points in a 30+ point win over the visiting Sabercats of Maranatha Baptist University. Not only did the Inferno dominate in the paint, but 30 of their points came from beyond the 3 point line as the team attempted 22 three point shots.

The scoring started with all of the offense on Riley Spencer's back as she scored the first 8 points for the Inferno. Spencer shot 50% from the 3 point line and also sank both of her free throws (2-2) giving her 10 points in her 24 minutes of play.

Following Spencer, Madalyn Kavalary joined in on the scoring where she dropped a career high 11 points in her young career with the Inferno. Kavalary also shot 50% from the three point line as she also went 2-2 from the free throw line as she rounded out her 24 minutes on the court.

The Inferno saw the return of standout freshman Laila Alramahi, as she found her way back to double digit scoring. Alramahi, with a limited time of 15 minutes on the court, made up for missed time as she scored 12 points, all coming from the 3 point line (4-5). Joining Alramahi with 12 points on the night was El Paso native, Dionna Woodson. Woodson saw 24 minutes of court time as she saw 50% from the three point line.

On the defensive side, Kyla Jamerson led the Inferno in rebounds with 8 as she also added 5 points to the Inferno total with 19 minutes on the court.

While the offense rallied, there was one player who excelled all night in her pink shoes and the number 42 across her chest: Morgan Golabowski. Lone junior, Golabowski saw career numbers in her team leading 28 minutes of court time. Golabowski nearly doubled her career high in points (8) as she finished the night with a team leading total of 15. Golabowski also recorded 4 rebounds, another season high. Over the last two games, Golabowski has found her way to new season highs and now new career highs as she continues to shine on the court, something she hopes carries into the final games of the year.

The Inferno head back out on the road for another 3 away games. They travel to Carlinville, IL to take on Blackburn College on December 17th at 3pm CST in the Woodward Athletic Center. The Inferno also face off against Elmhurst and Beloit in the coming weeks before they are back at home for NACC play against Benedictine University.
