WAUWATOSA, Wis. – Sophomore
Rolin West recorded a dozen kills in Alverno's conference matchup on the road against nearby foe Wisconsin Lutheran, and moved into the top-10 all-time in kills in the process. Alverno dropped the NACC decision by a score of 3-0.

West's 12 kills gives her 173 on the season and 383 for her career, as she leapt over both
Melissa Tandetzke '07Â and
Ari Rehberg '21Â and into ninth place on the all-time kills list at Alverno.
Eren Turk '04, currently sits in eighth place with 504 kills, while the all-time record belongs to
Rebecca Schmid '09Â with 902 kills.

Freshman
Natalie Onozie was second on the team with four kills, followed by senior
Alex McMath with three, with junior
Selena Upshur adding one. West led the team with a .258 hitting percentage, while McMath had 10 assists, with sophomore
Izzy Gianniou collecting five. West alongside freshman
Breann Flannery led the team with a pair of aces apiece, while freshmen
Lynnica Harley and
Jalea Taylor each had a solo block, with Harley and Onozie connecting on another block.

The Inferno spread the wealth in terms of digs, with West leading the way with seven followed by McMath with five. Flannery and Gianniou each had four, as Upshur, and freshman
Sharisty Kooch adding three apiece.

Wisconsin Lutheran won the three sets by the scores of 25-15, 25-18, and 25-17; taking an earlier lead in the opening set and controlling much of the opening stanza.

In the second set, Alverno took an early lead kick-started by a kill from West on a dish by Gianniou. The Inferno extended its lead to 5-1, which included another kill by West and a trio of errors by the Warriors. The Inferno led by a 7-4 margin before Wisconsin Lutheran rattled off four unanswered before Alverno took the next three points to regain the lead at 10-8.

Wisconsin Lutheran tied the score at 13 apiece, and then took a one-point lead before the Inferno evened the score. The Warriors took the next three points before Onozie put down a kill to trim the score to 17-15, but a 4-0 run by Wisconsin Lutheran late in the set spearheaded the late run for the 25-18 win.

Alverno again opened the third set with a 3-1 lead on kills by Onozie and West in addition to an error by Wisconsin Lutheran. After the set was even at four, Upshur picked up a kill followed by another point for the Inferno to take a 6-4 lead. The Warriors opened up an 8-6 lead but West and McMath went back-to-back on kills to tie the score before a 7-0 run put the set out of reach as the Warriors secured the three-set win with a 25-17 win.

Alverno (4-9, 0-3 NACC) will be back in action again at home tomorrow for its second home match of the season, as Alverno will host Benedictine for a 12 p.m. start inside Reiman Gymnasium.
