MILWAUKEE – The Alverno Soccer team opened up Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play on Wednesday afternoon, playing host to the Rockford Regents on the Alverno Soccer Field. Rockford picked up win by the score of 4-0.

Emily Anguiano led the way for the Inferno as they made 18 saves over the span of 90 minutes, and yielding the four Regent tallies. For the season, Anguiano now has 55 saves over their first four games of the season.

Five additional Inferno players were on for the full 90 minutes, as senior
Faith Josko,
Alo Cervantes,
Katie Shipley,
Ashley Flores, and junior
Georgia Wise played the entirety of the match.

Alverno held Rockford to just one goal in the opening 45 minutes, as the Regents potted the first goal in the 25th minute of action.

Rockford scored thrice more in the second half, on goals at the 56th, 80th and 90th minutes to cap the scoring at four.

Alverno (0-3-1, 0-1-0 NACC) will be back on the road for a conference match at Viets Field in downtown Milwaukee as the Inferno will take on MSOE beginning at 12 p.m.
