LISLE, Ill. – The Alverno basketball season came to a close on Saturday evening during the Inferno's Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference First Round matchup against the third-seeded Benedictine Eagles by the score of 87-37 at the Rice Center.

Saturday's appearance in the NACC Tournament was the seventh time an Inferno basketball team appeared in postseason play, and first since the 2016-17 season. Alverno first qualified for postseason play back during the 2004-05 campaign as a member of the Lake Michigan Conference.

Freshman
Morgan Golabowski led the Inferno on the game with 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including a pair of three-point baskets, while also connecting on 3-of-4 from the line. Golabowski also added four rebounds in the effort and led the team with three steals.

A trio of Inferno had six points on the game including senior
Dom Hudson in her final collegiate game, Hudson along with junior
Angie Reutgen and sophomore
Courtney Zarda all had a half-dozen points, including Zarda's pair of three-pointers. Hudson ended the game with eight rebounds, while Reutgen had six boards, and Zarda added a pair of caroms with a pair of assists to lead the team.

Lauryn Hilliard had two points and six rebounds, while classmate Jewel Zahrdaka picked up a pair of points and collected two rebounds. Freshman
Olivia Daugherty had three rebounds, while junior
Kiara Ellison had one steal on the game.

Alverno finished the season at 1-22, with an 0-15 mark in NACC contests this season. The Inferno will look to build off of a core of eight returners next season heading into the 2022-23 campaign. The schedule is set to begin in early to mid November.
