MINNEAPOLIS – The Alverno Basketball team completed its two-game season-opening road trip on Saturday afternoon, as the Inferno took on the Rams of North Central at the Clark-Danielson Gymnasium, falling to its host by a 64-34 score.

Junior
Mya Roberts led the Inferno with 10 points on the day as she connected on 4-of-7 from the field, while also adding four rebounds and one steal. Freshman
Adrianna Sapp connected on eight points in just 18 minutes, and recorded a season-best 11 caroms.

Freshman
Riley Spencer picked up six points and two rebounds and a steal, while freshman
Tyee Rhodes collected five points on 2-of-3 shooting and added one rebound. Sophomores
Olivia Daugherty and
Morgan Golabowski had two points each along with one steal apiece. Freshman
Camiria Sardin also had one point for the Inferno to go along with her seven rebounds.

Victoria Parra had five rebounds, along with the team's lone block on the game to go along with one steal. Sophomore
Jewel Zahradka along with freshmen
Kyla Jamerson and
Morgan Whitten each had one rebound apiece.

The Rams opened the scoring on the board with a layup before Spencer knotted the score at two on the ensuing possession. The Inferno trailed 7-4 following a layup by Sapp before the Rams put together eight unanswered points to open a 15-4 advantage.

Alverno scored five of the first six points in the second quarter to pull back within 10 points at 24-14, as the Inferno outscored the Rams by a 7-4 score and trailed 27-16 at the break.

The second half saw North Central outscore the Inferno by a 37-18 as the Rams ran away with the game late by a 64-34 margin.

Alverno (0-2) will return home on Wednesday evening, as the Inferno will welcome in the Beloit Buccaneers to the Reiman Gymnasium with tipoff slated for 7 p.m.
