MILWAUKEE – The Alverno basketball team wrapped up the 2020-21 road portion of its schedule on Saturday evening against the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors at the Recreation Complex. The Inferno dropped the decision by the score of 84-28.

Alverno was led by freshman
Vorian Wilcox, who tallied five field goals and a pair of free throws for a game-high 12 points for the Inferno. Wilcox was also one rebound shy of a double-double ending her night with nine boards to go along with two assists and a steal.

Senior
Mikayla Tessay added six points off the bench with a trio of field goals while also corralling two rebounds with one assist and one steal added to her stat total. Freshman
Sofia Jorgensen added four points and two rebounds, while junior
Kay Cooper, sophomore
Keeshya Bellows and freshman
Alayna Smith picked up two points apiece.

Bellows added Alverno's lone block of the night to go along with five rebounds, while Cooper picked up six boards and one assist. Sophomore
Angie Reutgen registered eight rebounds, while senior
Dom Hudson chipped in with three rebounds and one assist.

Alverno put up a pair of sevens in the first half, and trailed at the halftime break by a 49-14 score. The Inferno scored four more points in the third, before adding 10 more points in the fourth quarter, falling to the Warriors by an 84-28 score.

The Inferno shot 12-of-48 on the night and had 41 rebounds, while dishing out eight assists as a team.

Alverno (0-8, 0-8 NACC) will wrap up the 2020-21 regular season this coming week with a pair of make-up games as the Inferno will host the Lakeland Muskies on Tuesday and Wednesday evening from inside the Reiman Gymnasium. Once again, spectators will not be permitted to watch the game in person and are invited to watch the game online at Athletics.Alverno.edu/coverage, Don Wadewitz will be on the call Tuesday evening, while Matt Pauley will be behind the microphone on Wednesday.
