PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Alverno volleyball team wrapped up the road portion of its schedule on Tuesday evening, as the Inferno paid a visit to the Lakeland Muskies inside Woltzen Gymnasium. The Inferno fell in straight sets by the scores of 25-19, 25-11, and 25-10.

Alverno as a team registered 19 kills, with one service ace, three blocks, and 46 digs, while accumulating 23 points offensively.

Freshman
Rolin West led Alverno with nine kills, to go along with 10 digs and an assist, while sophomore
Jenna Flayter was second on the team with five kills as she led the team with a .200 hitting percentage. Flayter also chipped in with four assists, a solo block and seven digs on the three-set match.

Senior
Alex McMath led Alverno with 12 assists, and also led the defensive effort with 17 digs, to go along with four kills in her 18 swings. Sophomore
Selena Upshur had 20 swings and put down one kill, and finished the match with a pair of solo blocks with five digs.

Kiara Ellison registered six digs, while junior
Zahria Green had one dig on the effort to round out the stats for the Inferno.

Alverno took an early lead through the first four points, with a 3-1 advantage spearheaded by a kill from Flayter. The Muskies tied the set at four before opening an 11-6 lead. The Inferno trailed by eight at 18-10, but rolled out the next four points as West had three of her nine kills, while Flayter connected on a service ace.

The Inferno got to within three at 19-16, before the Muskies closed out the set for a 25-19 win. The Muskies added a 25-11 set two win before going on to sweep the match with a 25-10 victory in the third set.

Alverno (1-13, 0-10 NACC) will be home for its final three matches, beginning on Friday evening, when the Inferno host the Concordia Chicago Cougars for a 7 p.m. start inside Reiman Gymnasium.
