Box Score MEQUON, Wisconsin -- Visiting Alverno College lost to Concordia University Wisconsin, 70-58, Saturday afternoon inside Buuck Field House.
The Inferno overcame a 12-point deficit and led briefly, 37-36, midway through the third quarter, but the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference-leading Falcons (17-4, 14-2 NACC) used a 10-0 run to pull back in front for good.
Katelyn Bartlett and Mackenzie Mathies shared game-high honors with 16 points apiece, also career-highs for the pair. Bartlett was 7-of-11 from the field while Mathies was 5-of-8, including 3-of-6 from downtown.
Alverno (10-11, 7-9) was unable to slow down CUW's offense which shot 48 percent from the field and 88 percent from the free-throw line, compared to the Inferno's 41 from the field and 46 from the line. The host Falcons also edged the Inferno on the boards, 38-33.
Next up for Alverno is a Wednesday home game versus Rockford University, which begins a three-game homestand.
