ROCKFORD, Illinois -- Mollie Mikyska scored a season-high 25 points as Alverno College topped host Rockford University, 83-64, Wednesday night in the Seaver Center.

The Inferno (7-8, 4-6 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) erased a 13-point first-quarter deficit and snapped a two-game skid with the road win over the Regents (2-12, 0-9 NACC).

Mikyska shot 10-of-15 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line to go along with her game-high nine rebounds.

Julie Gallegos and Donna Zehner posted 12 points apiece and Katelyn Bartlett added her season best with 10 as Alverno eclipsed 80 points for the third time this season.

Gabby Hood directed the offense with eight assists, while Brooke McBain and Zehner anchored the defensive effort with five and four steals.

The Inferno capped off the second quarter with a 9-0 run for the 34-32 halftime lead and led the rest of the contest.

Next action for Alverno is next week Tuesday versus Concordia University Chicago back home in Reiman Gymnasium.
