Box Score RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Four Inferno players reached double-figures as Alverno College snapped its three-game skid with a convincing 87-57 victory over host Dominican University Tuesday night inside the Igini Sports Forum.
Jamie Hoernke scored 19 of her game-best 30 points in the first half, as the Inferno doubled up the Stars 50-25 at the break.
Katie Bartlett scored 12, Devon Gorman 11 and Ashley Berry added 10 for the Inferno (13-8, 10-6 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) who shot 48 percent from the field on the night.
Mollie Mikyska chipped in nine points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds as the Inferno held a 48-29 advantage over the Stars (0-21, 0-16 NACC) on the glass.
Kristen Speerschneider led the Inferno, who led by as many as 45 points in the second half, with six assists and three steals from the point guard position.
Haley Tyler made 7-of-9 free throws to lead the Stars with 12 points.
After the brief two-game road swing, Alverno returns home to host Lakeland College on Saturday at 7 p.m. The Inferno defeated the Muskies 70-51 in the season's first meeting on Jan. 15.
