Box Score MILWAUKEE -- Visiting Alverno College came close, but was unable to stop streaking Wisconsin Lutheran College, which won its 14th-consecutive game, 68-60, over the Inferno.
Devon Gorman led three Alverno players in double-figures with 18 points, joined by Jamie Hoernke's 15 and Ashley Berry's 12.
The host Warriors (15-3, 13-1 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) were led by Kristen Schulz, who put up game-highs 27 points and 12 rebounds.
The Inferno (12-8, 9-6 NACC) rallied from 13 down to take a 47-46 lead with 7 minutes, 51 seconds to play on a Gorman jumper before the Warriors' Brittanny Bahr answered with a jumper of her own to regain the lead.
Mollie Mikyska, who scored six points and grabbed seven rebounds in her first collegiate start, put the Inferno back up, 49-48, with a basket with 6:30 to play, but WLC scored on the next possession and held on to the lead for the remainder of the game.
Down to a single-possession contest, WLC's Bahr made a triple with 19 seconds to go to put the game out of the Inferno's reach at 66-60. Following an Inferno miss and a pair of made free throws by the Warriors, the spread was extended to the game-ending eight points.
During the Warriors' 14-game winning streak, the Inferno has been the only team to reach at least 60 points.
Alverno, the last team to defeat Wisconsin Lutheran back on Nov. 30, lost its third-straight game for the first time this season. The Inferno stays on the road Tuesday at Dominican University for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
