Box Score

MILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College women's basketball team defeated cross-town rival Mount Mary College, 89-79, in a nonconference game on the Mount Mary campus.

Six Alverno (4-5) players scored in double-figures to lead the Inferno's offensive attack. The 89 points is third most in a single game in school history (106 vs. Stephens College 02/02/01; 100 vs. Mount Mary 11/19/05).

Gabby Allen (Milwaukee, Wis./Bay View) was two points shy of her career-high scoring a team-high 25 points, shooting 12-of-16 from the free throw line.

Joslyn Binkowski (Greenfield, Wis.) scored 15 points, and was an assist shy of a triple-double, dropping nine dimes and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds.  Her nine assists ties the most assists in a game in school history.

Junior Lisa Sorgi (Milwaukee, Wis./Greenfield) provided a spark of the bench scoring 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor.

Bre Miller (Racine, Wis./Horlick) added 13 points on 3-of-9 shooting from the three-point arc, while Katie Salentine (Muskego, Wis.) and freshman Alicia Kontowski (South Milwaukee, Wis.) each chipped in 11 points.

The Inferno also tied a school-record for free-throws made in a game, converting on 24-of-32 in the contest tonight, compared to Mount Mary's (4-8) 12-of-21 performance from the charity stripe.

Alverno travels cross-town again on Thursday night to face MSOE in a Northern Athletics Conference game at 7, before hosting Lakeland College on Saturday at 2pm for another NAC bout.
