Alverno College basketball Student-athlete Mackenzie Mathies has been named Alverno Athlete of the Week for events of Nov. 28-Dec. 4.

Mathies started the week scoring 14 points in non conference action versus Mount Mary. She also collected five rebounds and two steals in route to a 52-29 victory. 

The Weston, Wis. native then had a career night against Marian as the Inferno collected their first conference win of the 2017-18 campagin. Mathies tallied a career high 28 points. The junior also hit seven three pointers, tying the record for most three point field goals made in one game. 

The Inferno continue NACC action as they travel to River Forest, Ill. to take on Dominican at 7 p.m.
