MILWAUKEE -- Volleyball student-athlete Shelby Metzger (Montreal, Mo./Camdenton) has been named Alverno Athlete of the Week for events that took place from October 17-23.
The rookie setter's week was highlighted by her second-career triple-double when she tallied 17 assists, 14 kills and 12 digs in just three sets at Maranatha on Saturday.
She also recorded double-doubles in two of three other matches last week (both in only three sets) for the Inferno (3-25, 0-11 Northern Athletics Conference).
The Inferno close out the home portion of their 2011 schedule on Wednesday, as they host Concordia Chicago in a NAC contest at 7 p.m. in Reiman Gymnasium.
