StanulaGLENDALE, Wis. -- Host Alverno lost a nonconference dual match to the visiting Dubuque Spartans 7-2.

The Inferno's two points were due in large part to Joanna Stanula (Oak Creek, Wis.), who won the No. 3 singles match in three sets (2-6, 6-4, 13-11) and teamed up with Damanique Drake (Milwaukee/Rufus King) for the win at No. 3 doubles, 9-7.

Stanula was bumped up to the No. 3 singles spot for the first time this season, having played primarily at the No. 5 spot, and improved her record to 6-4 with the win.

Alverno drops to 4-6 on the season, while the Spartans improve to 2-8.

The Inferno return to action tomorrow in a road dual at Lakeland.
