Alverno Tennis 2010 Season Preview

Alverno Tennis TeamMILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College tennis team enters its second year of intercollegiate competition in 2010 and looks to improve on its 10th place Northern Athletics Conference finish from the program's inaugural season in 2009. Head coach Erin Felber was pleased with the team's progress last season and is already eager about its competitive level this preseason.

"I'm incredibly excited," Felber said. "From day one of practice everybody came ready to play. We are exponentially better than we were last year, as far as practice goes."

The Inferno finished the 2009 regular season at 1-9 before their 10th place (out of 12 teams) finish at the NAC championship. It took the team eight dual matches to muster the program's first win, but Felber believes that inexperience played a role in some of the early losses, which will be less of a factor this year with four returners and an experienced transfer.
