MILWAUKEE, WIS.--The Alverno College competed in the Warrior Cross Country Invitational Saturday afternoon hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran.
The event hosted 137 runners from across the Wisconsin state with several schools participating from Illinois and Iowa. Alverno had eight runners total compete in the event with Leslie Ortiz finishing first for the squad. Ortiz recorded a time of 30:27.34 good for 86th place. Next for the Inferno was Tanya Salentine recording a finish time of 35:58.25. Elizabeth Gamillo finished next for the Inferno with a 37:58.42 while Leah Badke completed the course with a time of 39:36.15. Rounding out the Inferno runners were Maya Jean Kasch, Diana Munguia and Carissa Babcock recording times of 44:52.72, 50:43.77 and 56:51.62 respectively.
Alverno placed 14th overall during the event beating NACC rival Lakeland University.
Alverno College will run again next weekend on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Lucian Rosa Invitational hosted by UW-Parkside.
