Shore Paces Inferno At NACC Championships

WEST ALLIS, Wisconsin -- An 11th-place finish at Saturday's Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships concluded the 2016 season for the Alverno College cross country team.

The Inferno's score of 338 was just behind 10th-place Rockford University's 308 and ninth-place Dominican University's 259. Aurora University won the women's championship with a score of 39.

Destiny Shore paced Alverno with a personal-best finish of 33 minutes, 39 seconds in the 6K race, followed by Amy Naborowski at 35:03, Carina Jimenez at 35:46 and Leah Badke at 36:55. Shore shaved over 30 seconds off her previous personal record.

Rebecca Skrobis (43:47), Samantha Laabs (44:55) and Diana Munguia (45:56) rounded out the Inferno's finishers.

Alverno's finish was a place off last year's, despite just 13 additional points.
