Inferno Takes 10th At WPC Championships

SOMERS, Wisconsin -- Alverno College turned in a 10th-place finish at the 2016 Wisconsin Private Colleges Championships Saturday at Dannehl National Cross Country Course.

The Inferno tallied 302 points in the women's 6K race. Host Carthage College won the event with 31 points as five of its runners placed in the top 10.

Amy Naborowski paced Alverno with a finish of 31 minutes, 46.7 seconds. Carina Jimenez followed with a time of 33:40, Destiny Shore 34:11 and Leah Badke 35:09. Diana Munguia (41:47) and Rebecca Skrobis (42:13), Samantha Laabs (42:15) and Carissa Babcock (56:28) rounded out the times for the Inferno.

Jimenez had her season-best run, while Babcock, Munguia and Shore recorded personal best finishes.

The Inferno has next week off and then closes out the season at the 2016 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships on Oct. 29 at Greenfield Park.
