Alverno Runs At Red Hawk Invitational

GREEN LAKE, Wis. -- The Alverno College cross country team competed in its second event of the season at Ripon College's Red Hawk Invitational Saturday at Tuscumbia Golf Course.

The Inferno placed third in the three-team meet with 83 points. The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh won with a score of 15, while host Ripon was second with 50.

Oshkosh's Hannah Kuenzi was the top individual finisher with a time of 21 minutes, 45.36 seconds in the 6,000-meter race.

Kailey Huba paced Alverno with a time of 28:29.82 as she shaved nearly three minutes off last week's time.

Carina Jimenez improved her time by over four minutes as she crossed the finish line at 31:29.30, while Amy Naborowski bettered last week's time by nearly five minutes as she came in at 33:05.24.

Amanda Moehle (28:57.36) and Kayla Soliday (36:24.39) both ran in their first event of the season to round out the Inferno's finishers.

Next up is the Sabercats Invitational hosted by Maranatha Baptist University on Saturday, September 26.
