MEQUON, Wis. -- Alverno College opened its season at Concordia University Wisconsin's Ken Weidt Classic Saturday morning with a 16th-place finish.
The Inferno totaled 498 points, while Lawrence University won the women's race with a score of 49 on CUW's campus course.
The host Falcons' Marya Heagler was the top individual runner with a time of 23 minutes, 17.2 seconds.
Kailey Huba paced Alverno with a time of 31:22.5 in the 6,000-meter event. Carina Jimenez came in at 35:31.8, Amy Naborowski at 38:50.8, Mary Kate Sulikowski at 44:11.4 and Leticia Sanchez at 47:26.8.
All five runners competed in their first race for the Inferno.
The next action for Alverno is a week from today at Ripon College's Red Hawk Invite at 11:30 a.m.
