SOMERS, Wis. -- All five Inferno runners in action set personal records as Alverno College turned in a 20th place finish at the Lucian Rosa Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Saturday morning.
For the first time this season, the Inferno failed to finish in front of any team in the event standings, though the 5K event featured mostly scholarship schools from the NCAA Division I and II levels, as well as top 25 teams from Division III.
Northern Michigan University, ranked No. 19 in NCAA Division II, placed first in the team standings with 58 points, while the 25th-ranked University of Chicago was the top Division III finisher with 132 points, good for fourth place overall. Alverno tallied 646 points for its 20th place finish.
Katie Yun led the way for the Inferno with a time of 22 minutes, 27.1 seconds, good four fourth in the school record book.
Alverno closes out the regular season at the Wisconsin Private College Championships next Saturday. The Inferno returns to Greenfield Park, which the team just competed at on October 4.
