Finish Line In Sight For Inferno Runners At NAC Championships

MILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College cross country team will close out its season at the 2012 Northern Athletics Conference Championships this Saturday at Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon.

After five races during the first two months of the season, the Inferno squad is ready to lay it all on the finish line at the league championship race.

The women's 6K race is scheduled for a 12 p.m. start, just after the men's 8K at 11 a.m., on the Concordia Campus Course.

The Inferno ran the course in its second meet of the season on Sep. 15, at the Falcon Invite. Alverno placed 19th at the Invite, a spot back of NAC foe Dominican University and four back of Maranatha Baptist, also a NAC opponent.

After back-to-back 11th place finishes at the NAC Championships the last two years, the Inferno will look to match or better its 8th place finish of 2009, the last time the event was hosted by the Falcons.
