PLATTEVILLE, Wisconsin -- Senior Danielle Schilawski eclipsed the 1,000-career digs milestone as Alverno College dropped a pair of matches on the opening day of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Tournament Friday evening.
The Inferno (1-6) lost the opener to the University of Dubuque, 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-14), before another 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-11) setback in the nightcap to a second Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe, Buena Vista University.
Wewers added three blocks (one solo) on the defensive side of the net, while Alyssa Reinke posted a team-high 10 digs.
Versus the Beavers (4-2), Wewers had a team-best five kills and three blocks, while Schilawski registered a team-high 11 digs. Along with Schilawski's seven digs against Dubuque, she tallied enough to become the first Alverno player surpass the 1,000 mark.
The Inferno continues play at the UWP Tourney versus Carleton College and Monmouth College (Illinois) at 12 and 2 p.m. inside Williams Fieldhouse.
