RIPON, Wisconsin -- Melissa Weyand was named to the 2016 Ripon College Quadrangular All-Tournament Team as Alverno College closed out play Saturday afternoon inside Wyman Gymnasium.
The Inferno (1-3) lost the morning match to the host Red Hawks, 3-0 (25-7, 25-7, 25-13), before a 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-14) loss to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in the afternoon for the team's third defeat of the tourney.
Against Ripon, Weyand led the offense with a team-best seven kills while adding a pair of blocks and four digs on defense.
Alverno struggled on the attack with two more errors than kills, while the Red Hawks (3-0) had an impressive .439 percentage on their attack.
Weyand matched her offensive output against UW-River Falls (2-1) with seven more kills and added six digs defensively.
The Falcons tallied seven team blocks in the contest to keep the Inferno attack at bay.
Alverno looks to bounce back Tuesday at Beloit College for a 7 p.m. nonconference tilt.
