Offense Stymied In Third Straight Loss

MILWAUKEE -- Alverno College dropped its third straight match Friday evening to host Milwaukee School of Engineering, 3-0, downtown at the Kern Center.

The Inferno (7-17, 0-7 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) struggled on the attack with 24 errors to just 23 kills. Alternately, the Raiders (11-12, 2-6 NACC) connected for 29 kills and nine errors for a .294 hitting percentage in the 25-18, 25-20, 25-9 decision.

Melissa Weyand and Jessica Wewers had nine and seven kills to lead Alverno's offense, Meranda Masse had 20 assists, while Danielle Schilawski led the defense with a match-high 14 digs.

Next up for the Inferno is a home match versus Wisconsin Lutheran College tomorrow evening at 7 Reiman Gymnasium.
